Mushroom soup
Cream of mushroom soup is a simple type of soup where a basic roux(flour sauted with butter) is thinned with cream or milk and then mushrooms and/or mushroom broth are added. Though in this basic mushroom soup I am not using the flour as it will be thickened by the mushroom puree itself.
Just a little history on the mushroom soup , John T. Dorrance, a chemist with the Campbell Soup Company invented condensed soup in 1897. The Campbell Soup Company began producing “Cream of Mushroom Soup” in 1934.
Though Mushrooms are not everyone’s favorite, but for ones who love mushrooms they would surely relish this recipe.
Mushrooms when sautéed with butter and garlic adds a different flavor altogether. You can serve it with Italian Bread or Garlic Bread.
You can also add spaghettis in it for kids.
