Kadhi Pakora

Kadhi  is a dish originating from  India. It consists of a thick gravy based on gram flour  and curd which gives it its sour taste. It can also be made with vegetable fritters called pakoras. It is often eaten with boiled rice or roti. Kadhi is made in different parts of India in its own version keeping the base gravy intact. For eg: Gujurati Kadhi is usually sweet and white, Punjabi Kadhi is with  pakoras , Sindhi Kadi with different sorts of vegetables and Rajasthani Kadhi is bit spicy. This meal is considered as Light food as it is made with less spices. The main key to cook delicious kadhi is to  let it boil for more time, More it cooks more yummy it will be. In Today's recipe  we will see how to make Punjabi Kadhi Pakora

Ingredients
    Main Ingredients
    For Pakoras
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup methi leaves (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Haldi powder
  • 2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Ajwain Powder
  • Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 cup Coriander Leaves (Finely Chopped)
  • 1 cup Besan or Gram flour
  • Water (As Needed)
  • 1 Potato (Finely chopped(Optional))
  • Oil (For Frying)
  • For Kadhi
  • 3 cup Curd (Sour)
  • 1 cup Gram Flour
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 l Water
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • tsp Jeera Oil
  • 5-6 PepperCorns
  • 1 tsp Methi Seeds
  • 1 tsp Asafoetedia
  • 3 Red Chillies
  • Cilantro (Chopped)
Instructions
    For Pakoras
  1. In a Mixing Bowl, Add 1 medium onion chopped
  2. Add 1/2 cup methi leaves
  3. Add 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  4. Add 2 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  5. Add 2 Tsp Coriander Powder
  6. Add 1 Tsp Ajwain Powder
  7. Add Salt to Taste
  8. Add 1/2 cup finely chopped coriander
  9. Add 1 chilli chopped
  10. Add 1 cup Besan/Chickpea Flour
  11. Mix Everything
  12. Add water as Needed
  13. Add chopped potatoes (Optional)
  14. Make Small Balls and put in Hot Oil
  15. Turn them once they turn Brown
  16. Remove them From Oil Once they are done and put in a Tissue
  17. Place the Pakoras in a serving Bowl
  18. For Kadhi
  19. In A Bowl, Take 3 cups of Curd
  20. Add 1 cup Besan
  21. Add 1 TSP Red Chilli Powder
  22. Add 1/2 Cup Turmeric Powder
  23. Add Salt to Taste
  24. Add 2 TSP of Ginger Garlic Paste
  25. Add 1 L of Water. PS i have added water from the curd bowl to colour is different
  26. Whisk it with Hand Mixer
  27. In A Pan, Heat 1 TBSP of Oil and add 1 tsp cumin seeds
  28. Add 5-6 peppercorns
  29. Add 1 tsp Methi seeds
  30. Add 1 Tsp Hing/Asafoetida
  31. Add 3 Red Chillies
  32. Pour the Kadhi Mixture in the Pan
  33. Stir Well
  34. Let it cook for 20-30 mins
  35. Add the Kadhi on Pakoras 10 mins before Serving,Garnish it with Coriander Leaves.
